Stator rotation direction detector( SDD 201 ) is effective for measuring phase rotation direction in all areas where three-phase  and single-phase supplies are used to feed motors, drives, and electrical systems. SDD 201 is a rotary field indicator and can provide a clear indication of the phase rotation direction to determine correct connections. It allows rapid determination of phase sequence and has a voltage and frequency range suitable for commercial and industrial applications.

It provides a non-contact means of detecting and displaying the direction of rotation of motors. The direction of a motor’s rotation can be determined even if the rotor is visually hidden or absent because this instrument senses the phase rotation of the leakage field of the motor’s rotating magnetic field.
